Virtual VR Walk Around the Palace in Leśnica

The project was created in 2010 as an attempt to use the Unity engine to build an interactive architectural visualization. We chose a "technically demanding project" project, but that was precisely the point — to face a challenging task.

Creating the model itself was already a considerable challenge. Another one was adapting it to the modest real-time capabilities of the available hardware.

The project gained recognition at the Lower Silesian Festival of Architecture "DOFA", where it was presented as an interactive application controlled with an Xbox gamepad.

Today, we have "returned to Leśnica" because the Quest 3 mobile headset has sufficient power to process real-time graphics from the previous decade. Mobility and gesture-based control are the key aspects. All of this makes it possible to overlook certain visual simplifications that are necessary to ensure smooth performance.
